Scott Shaw34 days agoI’ve been on charters from the gulf of Alaska to the Baja and Astoria Fishing tops the the list. Jeff and Julie go out all out, bait checks, coaching ,and doing all they can to make sure you catch fish. Really enjoyed my trip! The fish processing provided by them at the end of trip was awesome! chad Israelson49 days agoJust finished my first trip doing buoy 10. Our party had 4 of us and we booked for two consecutive days. Jeff and Julie were absolutely amazing. I would highly suggest anyone looking to experience fishing on the Columbia river to reach out to Jeff. his experience, professionalism and knowledge of that river is exactly what you’re looking for in a guided trip. He sticks to his instincts and trust what he knows on that river. You won’t be disappointed in booking their guiding service. His counterpart Julie is equally as important for the experience on our charter. She works her ass off and is amazing. The two of them make such a great team and we were so happy with our experience. Robby Calhoun54 days agoI have fished with Jeff & Julie for years. They are very knowledgeable and I totally trust Jeff if we fish the ocean and have to pass the bar. Julie is constantly making sure all the lines have fresh bait, netting fish, bleeding the fish and putting them on ice. Plus after we are done Jeff cleans them, Julie vacuum seals them at their house and supplies ice for transporting them. You will not be disappointed with Astoria Fishing Charters....Posted on Google

Mark E79 days agoTired arms Been with many guides from Arizona to Alaska all great experiences. But the level of knowledge about the local fishery is unmatched. Been out twice in the last year. Shelsee K142 days agoSturgeon wresting My family had the best time with Jeff fishing Sturgeon on the Columbia River. They all came home exhausted but overflowing with excitement and stories of the monsters they wrestled. The only complaint I heard was how sore they were the next day. From the first email I sent, inquiring what would be the best way to make some unforgettable memories, I could tell Jeff was the right guide for us. He was not sure if the weather, tides or even constantly changing regulations would cooperate on the weekend we had available but he kept in contact and created a day they will talk about for a long time. They said at times they would have 3 fish on at the same time while “playing Twister” to try and get them in. Not sure if Jeff kept count of how many the pulled in but they quickly lost count. I also felt like his crew went above and beyond making sure everyone had the gear and safety devices needed in the days before. They all felt well taken care of. I did not go myself, just the organizer mom, but feel like I did because they have not shut up about their day on the water with Jeff. Just book the trip. I fished for sturgeon with Jeff and his first mate Julie. A group of 4. We had an incredible time! We hit 10 sturgeon in the first 70 minutes. We hit 20 total fish, lost 3 that spit the hook for a total of 17 sturgeon in 3 hours. Jeff is truly knowledgeable and knows the river, and his first mate was such a pleasure to fish with and support our whole day. We had a great time with Jeff, while fish were elusive the trip was a great experience. highly recommend Jeff for his experience and his wisdom of the river. You could not ask for a better experience than to go with this charter company. Jeff and Julie are the best! Not only do they find the crab and let you hoist them into the boat, but then they take you back to their house and cook them up and package them for you to take home and give you ice for your coolers. Who in the industry would care so much like them??? I have told so many friends and family to book with them! Best fishing trip you could ask for. We go in August for Salmon with them every year and have never been disappointed. We travel 7.5 hours each way just to fish with them twice a year. That should tell you something. Jeff is the best at finding the fish and cutting them up for you to take home when fishing for salmon. Julie is the best at taking care of the needs of the customers on the boat and at their home when she boils the crab and packages them up for you. Don't waist your money on another charter. Matt L513 days agoTrip with My Grandson This was my second time to go fishing with Jeff, but the first for bottom fishing. He told us up front that the trip to the spot would be about equal to the time to limit out, or about an hour each. He was spot on! We limited out on Sea Bass, as well as Ling Cod and caught a few Canary fish as well. Additionally we caught Cabezon, but those had to be released at this time of year. Jeff and Julie take care of the dressing and packaging of the fish as well as share a few recipes. They recommended the Sea Bass for fish tacos which is what we did on our return home, and it was great.Posted on Tripadvisor

Jordan H.845 days agoWent on the Sturgeon fishing trip June 25th 2024 with my dad. We had an amazing day out with Jeff and Julie! They were great guides and knew where to go to catch sturgeon! It was the 8 hour trip but like they said if you're out the full 8 then you're not catching enough sturgeon! We started at 7 and the entire boat caught 30 sturgeon in total and tapped out at 12pm! Caught multiple 9 foot sturgeons as well! Definitely recommend this charter and will definitely book with them again when we come back to town!+3Posted on Yelp
Michael H.1258 days agoI booked a charter with jeff and julie because my old friend that ran charlton charters retired. first off let me say one of the best fishing experiences I have ever had. jeff knows his stuff and julie is really all about customer service. between the 2 of them I couldn't of had a better time. jeff and julie went above and beyond to make my trip happen and a great experience. if you want to have a memorable trip with one of the best guides on the columbia look no further. I could write good stuff all day about my trip, but I'll finish by saying this, his price also includes processing and vacuum packing, so if you go with a larger charter trip thats not included. We had no idea what to expect but I'd been reading reviews of various guides and Jeff kept coming up as "the one"! We had the best time! Jeff and Julie put us at ease and made the trip a joy. Where else can you find giant fish and people that Take you to their home to filet and bag your fish for the journey home?! Lisa W.1595 days agoWent keeper sturgeon fishing with Jeff and Julie on June 4 and it was epic!!! We had 3 triples..... I'd only seen a double in person. Jeff knew exactly where to go and then we just anchored and waited for the tide to go out. The weather was a little sporty but not too bad. If you're in need of foul weather gear...they have extra in spades to share!!!! As soon as the tide was right, it was a sturgeon catching clinic!!! OMG....I had so much fun. They brought the catch into Hammond to get filleted and then it was off to their house for the vacuum sealing, which is also included in the price. Gregory B.2508 days agoWe had an excellent time with Captain Jeff and deck hand Julie. The weather was really tough however, they were professional, safe and we all limited out. I HIGHLY recommend planning your next trip with them and we are already planning a Springer trip next year. We went up to the house after, cooked all of the crab, and relaxed before heading back to Portland. Great crew, Great experience and Good Times.Posted on Yelp
Calli R.2549 days agoJeff and Julianna are some of the most down to earth people I've met. They do an excellent job of making their clients feel comfortable and prepared for a day on the water. Julianna does an absolute top notch job visiting and getting to know each client on the boat while Jeff navigates to the fishing area. Once on site Jeff does a great job of instructing everyone and ensuring their success while Julianna helps everyone land their fish. They make a great guide team which equals a great time on the water for their clients. If the day is a success on the water for crabs they go one step farther by boiling your crab for you if you want and let me say fresh crab boiled right off the water is AMAZING. I can't recommend Astoria charters enough. My girlfriend will be back for sure!Load more
