Bottom fishing trips are currently available. Its one of the most fun
and active fisheries around. Ling cod, sea bass and a variety of
other tasty fish are available. Bottom fishing trips are normally
shorter in duration and depend upon ocean conditions being good.
The limit is 7 fish per person and 2 Ling cod, which do not count
toward the 7.
Crab fishing is open, but poor in the river this season. Expectations
should be lowered and the experience and crab must be valued
highly, or this trip just isn't worth it right now. Im willing to do the
trip, just dont expect limits of crab.
The ocean is closed to salmon fishing. It reopens in June. We are
expecting another banner year of Salmon fishing on the lower
Columbia and Pacific ocean, book early for the best dates. Thank
you for visiting.

Welcome and thank you for visiting! I am Jeff Keightley
and I would love to take you fishing! If you are planning
a trip to the Portland area or the Oregon Coast, give me
a call, shoot me a text or an email! For 2015, I will once
again be offering a fish catch guarantee. On captain
Jeff's boat only: If no one in your party catches fish,
the trip is half price!
Latest news: 2/22/15 Fishery managers have announced dates for
the upcoming Spring Chinook (King salmon) fishing season. The
dates are March 1st through April 10th. In past years, this season
has not closed on the scheduled closure date because the quota
was not caught by that date. It is likely to be extended, probably
for about a week. Ive seen it extended all the way to the 23rd.
Unfortunately, we will not know of an extension for sure, until just
before the scheduled closure date. You can book a trip with me for
any date in April and if the closure happens before your date, I will
be happy to take you bottom fishing instead, refund your deposit
or reschedule you to a summer salmon or fall salmon trip (your
choice). The forecast is better than last years forecast and the
quota is too. 312,600 Spring Chinook are expected to return to the
Columbia in 2015 and the quota has been established at 12,500
sport caught fish. The season usually reopens in sometime in May.
Spring Chinook trips are right around the corner. Best dates for
spring Chinook are in late March, April, and May (If and when
ODFW reopens it). A reasonable chance to get them starts in
March, by late March, fishing is normally good. I will begin test
fishing these elusive trophy fish in mid February.
